Suttle
Reveals Wi-Fi Solution for the SOHO Environment
HECTOR, MINN - May 1, 2003
Suttle,
a subsidiary of Communications Systems, Inc. (AMEX:
JCS), announces the availability of SOHO Wireless, a
wireless networking solution for today's Small Office/Home
Office environment. The SOHO Wireless solution simply
and affordably provides untethered Internet access and
printer sharing to multiple users with best-in-class
security.
"Suttle
is bringing solutions to the Service Provider, and Hospitality/MDU
customers with products that enable reliable communications
wirelessly, complimenting our line of reliable wireline
connectivity products." Said Bruce Blackwood, VP
of Sales and Marketing, Suttle.
Designed
to IEEE 802.11b standards for wireless networking at
11Mbps, the SOHO Wireless Access Point includes a Cable/DSL
modem port, 10/100 Ethernet LAN port, integrated print
server port, and a serial port for external modem connection.
Users wirelessly connect to the access point using either
a SOHO Wireless PC Card, a SOHO Wireless USB client,
or any 802.11b compliant client/card.
Security
is addressed via NAT, VPN, packet filtering, Hardware
Access Control (HACTM), 64/128 bit Wireless Encryption
(WEP), and a "full stealth" mode operation
that makes it undetectable to port scanners. Management
and configuration are performed through a simple browser-based
interface that can also be accessed via remote Internet
connection.
This
is an ideal secure solution for small business, hospitality,
or residential users to enjoy untethered Internet access
and printer sharing while having the peace of mind of
a secure connection. Suttle's SOHO Wireless products
support a single shared IP Internet access connection
for multiple users and is configurable for a variety
of modular connection options including Ethernet, DSL,
Cable Modem, ISDN, or dial up.
